Such was life as a student on the turbulent trek toward adulthood. We endured first-day jitters, forged new friendships and crammed for tests. If we were lucky, we also encountered a special teacher whose warm smile and gentle encouragement buoyed our spirits and championed our efforts. That teacher supported us, challenged us and helped us identify our strengths. That's what great teachers do. This month, as kids don backpacks and head back to school, we're getting to know residents who are educators. Here's what they have to say about life in the classroom.
