When MVP Athletic Club proposed a challenge, Karla Coble didn't hesitate to take it. She toned and flexed until she reached a whole new level of fitness with help from the MVP Body Transformation Challenge. The 13-week weight loss program helps participants increase strength, lose inches and gain nutritional knowledge to form long-lasting healthy habits. "I started it to lose weight and possibly drop a size, but then I realized it was a lot more than that - it was a lifestyle change," Coble said. Before retirement, Coble worked long, busy days traveling across the country as the chief operating officer for a property management company. Exercise wasn't high on her list of priorities. That quickly changed once she retired and moved to the Village of Collier. 38 SEPTEMBER 2016 "One of my goals in retirement was to get in shape," she said. "So, I invested the time and the money and it was well worth it." Not only did Coble meet all of her goals during the challenge, but her posture improved and her back pain eased because of the strength and flexibility she gained. Her husband, Steve, has noticed a pep in her step since her participation in the challenge. "She's a lot happier and seems to be very pleased with the progress she's made," he said. "And when she feels good about herself, she exudes it." It's contagious, too. After witnessing his wife's transformation, Steve declared that his time has come to transform, as well. "Getting back in the swing will be easier because I can use what she's learned and apply it to my daily routine," he said.
