Villagers Show Their Spirit On The Square during College Colors Day 2011
On Sept. 2, more than 4,000 Villagers came out in full force to celebrate the opening of football season and to show their school spirit on Spanish Springs Town Square. Music, fight songs and predictions for the upcoming football season were the focus along with two coveted trophies. Village of Silver Lake resident Pat Daniels won the school spirit trophy. She came dressed as a West Virginia University Mountaineer. The loudest cheer trophy this year went to the Ohio State Buckeyes after a hard battle with this past year’s winner Penn State. Bealls Department Store sponsored the event and DJ John DiMercurio energized the crowd.
