Looking for a relaxing way to bond with your other
half? During Massage Therapy 101, get hands-on experience in the art of massage.
Instructor Jody Held has practiced massage for more
than 20 years. Students will learn massage techniques
such as Swedish and deep tissue, the benefits of massage
and massage aftercare.
"I love sharing my gift with others," Held said. "We can
work on techniques for specific ailments as well."
Henrietta and David Tyson, of the Village Rio Grande,
took the class together and learned a lot about massage
and how to help each other.
"My husband agreed to come along and we both enjoyed the class very much," Henrietta said. "We both
learned some valuable techniques, and Jody is an excellent massage therapist."
The next three-hour class is 9 a.m. Nov. 12. It costs
$50 each for Villagers or $55 for the public.

Ready To Mingle
Dance the night away while meeting new people.
Leo Goulden started the Sunny Singles Club in August as a way to open up more opportunities to singles
with a passion for moving their feet.
"The goal is to provide a nice dance atmosphere for
single folks and to raise a little money for charity along
the way," said Goulden, of the Village of
Country Club Hills.
"We're going to have mixers. We
provide people with music that they
can dance to. We're not about ballroom dancing necessarily, but more
about music the average person can
dance to."
Sunny Singles Club dance parties
are 7 p.m. the second and fourth Fridays
of each month at Chula Vista Recreation
Center, 1011 Rio Grande Ave.
Admission is $3 for members or $5 for guests. The
next dance is Oct. 14.
