Quick tips for Holiday Home Decorating 1. Outside Lights - Keep your outside lights either simple or over the top. Don't go in between. 2. Front Door- Put lighted wreaths and garland on your front door to welcome guests. 3. Color Palette - Keep your color palette limited. Choose three to four colors to stick to. 4. Collectibles - Group your collectibles together, especially if they are small. You can display collectibles using items that you already have in your home, such as pretty trays, cake stands or on top of a mirror. 5. Public Spaces - Decorate all your public spaces. It can be as simple as weaving a pretty ribbon throughout your greenery inside your home. 6. Candles & Scents - Use lots of candles! Use the scents of the season to inspire you, such as peppermint or cinnamon. Simmer scents on your stove. Use cinnamon sticks, orange peels and cloves to make your home smell heavenly. 7. Activities - If grandchildren are visiting, have a fun and creative project for them to do. You can decorate cookies, make Christmas tree ornaments or make a garland for your tree the oldfashioned way, by stringing popcorn. 8. Table Setting - Set a beautiful table for your guests.
