An executive of the IGDA’s Game Writers Special Interest Group, his published work includes short fiction as well as literary criticism, humor, and book and music reviews. Scott Selfon Senior Audio Specialist Microsoft’s XNA Developer Connection (XDC) Group In his role, Scott assists composers, sound designers, and audio programmers with technical and creative implementation issues. He has also composed music for a wide range of media and is the co-author of DirectX Audio Exposed: Interactive Audio Development (Wordware), winner of the 2003 GANG Best Audio Publication award. Linda Law Vice President, The Fat Man For the last 16 years, Linda has worked at The Fat Man as a business and project manager. In 1996 she cofounded Project Bar-B-Q, the interactive audio think-tank, and established its working group process. Linda is also the chairperson of the IASIG’s Interactive XMF working group. Dana Fos User Experience Manager, Microsoft Game Studios With some 30 titles behind her and a dozen or so ahead, Dana is the Microsoft Game Studios User Experience Manager. With an impressive staff of game editors, she works with developers on story development, script writing, user interfaces, voiceover, localization, and designing/implementing the tools and processes those disciplines require. Lori Solomon Marketing Manager, Dolby In her role as senior partner marketing manager, Lori evangelizes Dolby technologies in the game community. She is responsible for connecting with developers, publishers and peripheral makers to create co-promotional programs. Since joining Dolby in 1996, Lori has launched programs with many companies, including Electronic Arts and Activision while also overseeing the company’s gaming trade shows and events. Dave Murrant Director of Service Groups, Sony Computer Entertainment America Dave manages the music, sound, cinematic, motion capture and multimedia groups within Sony. A 15+ year veteran of the videogame industry, Dave has worked on a vast array of different games on all platforms including SOCOM, goD of War, and Syphon filter. Susan O’Connor (Chair) Game Writer, Susan O’Connor Writing Studio Since 1988, Susan has been writing game narratives for Activision, THQ, Take-Two Interactive, Sony, and Microsoft, to name a few. She has been a speaker at several industry conferences and in 2007 she was a co-recipient of the GDC Best Writing award for BioShoCk. She is currently working on far Cry 2 and an unannounced project for Radical. Matt Tullis Product Manager, Games, Dolby Laboratories Matt manages the development of new technologies, tools, and services for the game market for Dolby, North America. Previously he worked with game developers to implement Dolby technologies in a variety of games on various platforms, including Dolby Digital on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, as well as Dolby Pro Logic II on the PlayStation 2 and Wii. George Alistair Sanger The Fat Man–Music and Sound Design for Games The Fat Man, George Alistair Sanger, has been creating music and audio for games since 1983. He is internationally recognized for contributing to the atmosphere of well over 250 games, and in 1995 was the first music producer to be accepted into the National Recording Academy based on his work in games rather than in CDs or film. Mark Terrano Founder and Design Director, Hidden Path Entertainment Mark is the design director at Seattle’s indie studio Hidden Path Entertainment whose recent work includes xBla WitS anD WagerS and the upcoming DefenSe griD games. Before launching a studio Mark worked with developers as a consultant and educator in the Xbox Advanced Technology Group. He is best known for his design work on the age of empireS games. 5 WRITERS TRACK Marc has been kicking around the industry for 16 years, co-founding Midian, a game audio production company, then moving to Iguana Entertainment (later Acclaim Studios), Marc Schaefgen (Chair) Lev Chapelsky Co-Founder and GM, Blindlight Studios Lev is a founding partner and general manager for Hollywoodbased Blindlight, providing game producers with consultative advice on working with outsource talent and production resources.
