The latest B icrosoft Corp. has made available two enhancements to its BizTalk Server product that will make it easier to deploy and develop radio-frequency identification (RFID) applications. The company also is offering the first public beta version of BizTalk Server 2009, the next-generation release of Microsoft’s business server product line, which is due for final release in the first half of 2009. The enhancements include BizTalk RFID Mobile, which allows the BizTalk Server RFID functionality to be deployed over mobile devices running Windows Mobile and Windows CE operating systems. BizTalk RFID Mobile is available at no cost to BizTalk Server customers with the Microsoft Software Assurance software licensing option. Microsoft also announced new BizTalk Server support for industry standards, which will make it easier for customers and partners to develop RFID applications that run in heterogeneous environments.
