Visiprise Title: BAE SYSTEMS: DELIVERING QUALITY AND DATA ACCURACY THROUGH INTEGRATION Download: managingautomation.com/visiprise2 Summary: BAE Systems is responsible for the build and delivery of specific Major Units and Systems (aft fuselage, vertical and horizontal tails, outboard wings, system design controls, fuel system and crew escape system) to the projects’ OEM and final assembly contractor, Lockheed Martin. BAE Systems requirement was to modify its proven internal standards and processes to establish a set of business rules and policies that would allow BAE Systems to operate efficiently and collaboratively to meet all specific F-35 Lightning II contractual requirements. BAE Systems engaged Visiprise with several of their integrated manufacturing operations solutions. With the F-35 Lightning II project, Visiprise took a similar “partnering” approach, working with project and Manufacturing Engineering teams to gather requirements and solutions to meet the objectives. BAE Systems partnership strategy and adherence to defined processes have resulted in significant goal achievements and has lead to significant benefits, including reduced paper based Quality Records - data collection, improved Bill of Material management capabilities and a reduction in time to raise/close nonconformance. 51 August 2008 http://managingautomation.com/stratus8 http://managingautomation.com/stratus6 http://managingautomation.com/visiprise2
