Greater flexibility for modifying the device lets users add modules for scanners, imagers, RFID reading, wireless radios, and other applications, as job functions warrant. Customers can also opt for a Hardware Developer’s Kit (HDK) that enables them to custom develop applications. www.managingautomation.com/Psion MOTION CONTROLS ROBOTICS ROBOTIC SUBTA SYSTEM ure rate is five years, according to Motion Controls Robotics, and a three-year warranty is included. www.managingautomation.com/MotionControls M otion Controls Robotics has introduced the Robotic Stand Up Bottle Take Away (SUBTA) System, which manufacturers can use to automate the handling and unloading of PET plastic bottles. The PSION TEKLOGIX RUGGED MOBILE COMPUTER obile computing stalwart Psion Teklogix has upgraded its WORKABOUT PRO line of wireless handheld computers, with more rugged construction and greater flexibility for upgrading the device in the field. Following in the footsteps of the product lifecycle management concept, Dassault will offer applications for simulation lifecycle management (SLM), including those for capturing, managing, and reusing data. The idea, according to the company, is to give manufacturers the means to better tie product simulation to the new product development process. Applications in the SLM suite, the first of which will be available this year, will use a Web interface and Dassault’s 3DLive technology, including 3DSearch, 3DNavigation, and 3DCollaboration, allowing collaboration among far-flung workers. Dassault expects the primary users of the SLM products to be analysis experts and product designers. www.managingautomation.com/Dassault F system, which includes robotics and control software, can be used for coating, leak checking, and bulk palletizing of PET containers. The product grabs bottles and sets them on a conveyor system standing up. The system works with any mold machine configuration, including single- and double-row configurations. The system also includes quick changeover tooling. For larger mold machines, the system integrates the FANUC M-6iB or the M-16iB robot. For smaller mold machines, it uses the FANUC LR Mate 200iC robot.
