CALIFORNIA'S
CRAFT BREW BOOM
From the state's northernmost redwood forests to the sun-scorched
Mojave Desert, the craft beer movement spans the Golden State. Many
breweries have tours, beer gardens,
gastropubs, and live music venues.
Popular destinations include San
Francisco's Anchor Steam Brewing,
often called the birthplace of the
craft beer movement. The massive
Firestone Walker Brewing Company
in the Central Coast town of Paso
Robles offers tours and has indoor
and outdoor dining. San Diego
County is a beer lover's paradise,
with Stone Brewing, Ballast Point,
Green Flash, Karl Strauss Brewing
Company, and other big names.
In California's north-east corner,
Sierra Nevada Brewing, in Chico,
has guided tours, good food, and
live music.

California
has more
breweries
than any
other state
in the U.S.
