Helpline Telecom’s Recharge Point is an Electronics Vending Retail Outlet (EVRO) where the mobile phones (GSM, CDMA etc) can be recharged in any denomination at Recommended Retail Price (RRP). With the mission to boost the telecommunications retail sector by introducing valueadded customer services, the company targets the prepaid telephone billing system users that constitute more than 90% of the total phone subscribers-base in Nigeria. Because landline infrastructure is not as available in Nigeria as other parts of the world, Helpline needed their retail solution to connect to the host server via Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) protocols as opposed to Telephony or IP circuits in the U.S. ETS was able to provide the necessary modifications and controls to communicate via GSM and GPRS with the ETS Application Suite being deployed for Helpline in their native Nigeria.
