My Land Plan Enters Its Second Year
last year, the american Forest Foundation (aFF)
launched my land plan to provide an online
resource for woodland owners interested in
learning more about their woods.
today more than 1,800 woodland owners have
signed up for the website at www.MyLandPlan.org to get information and tips on
a wide variety of issues, including how to protect their investment in the face of threats
such as invasive pests, droughts, wildfire and trespassers. nearly 200 foresters
have also registered with the my land plan Forester directory to connect with other
woodland owners.
“my land plan is designed to help woodland owners learn about their land and identify
their interests—whether those include improving wildlife habitat, recreational opportunities, birding, income or other goals,” says caroline kuebler, outreach manager with aFF.
the website’s mapping tool was designed to help users map their land and record
features such as streams, trails, plants, wildlife and special sites. Since my land plan
launched last year, new features and functions have been added to make woodland
conservation easier, more fun and more effective.
