Cardiac PACS As the hospital planned an expansion several years ago, cardiac care took center stage. Cardiac patients and their family members want to stay close to home and receive care from familiar physicians, says Chief of Cardiology Mark Furman, MD. South Shore Hospital constructed the answer: a highquality, high-tech cardiovascular center in Weymouth. The brand new center offered the hospital a unique opportunity to plan cardiac services from scratch and build a program that exemplifies 21st century cardiac care. “We sought to create a new model.
