TECHNOLOGY PREVIEWS Molecular Imaging Lights Up Molecular imaging developers are poised to assist practitioners with the introduction of new software and hardware intended to further expand the diagnostic capabilities of PET and PET/CT as well as SPECT and SPECT/CT. A host of ﬁrms are unveiling their offerings in molecular imaging applications and modalities designed to provide higher-quality imaging, faster throughput, and increased diagnostic conﬁdence. Carestream Health (Booth 8342) is featuring its Kodak In-Vivo Multispectral system for advanced research applications, large Stokes shift dyes, and new bone mineral density analysis software. CoActiv Medical Business Solutions (Booth 7336) is debuting its Exam-PACS support of breast-speciﬁc gamma imaging ﬁles. Dilon Technologies (Booth 9149) is launching a transportable version of the ﬁrm’s Dilon 6800 gamma camera. GE Healthcare (Booth 5529) is introducing the Discovery PET/ CT 600 and VUE Point technology for its Discovery Dimension PET/CT. Also on display is the Inﬁnia Hawkeye 4 4-slice SPECT/ CT scanner and eXplore speCZT pre-clinical imaging system. Medrad (Booth 2815) is featuring its Intego PET fusion system, which automates the administration of FDG for PET and PET/ CT imaging procedures. Merge Healthcare (Booth 4058) is demonstrating Cedara I-Response’s PET/CT Analysis package which automates the comparison of standardized uptake values over multiple time points. MIMvista (Booth 2015) is highlighting its Serial Exam Review and MIMneuro package. Serial Exam Review allows for the tracking of abnormalities between time points from multiple modalities. The MIMneuro now includes epilepsy analysis performing ictal-interictal SPECT subtractions and MR co-registration. Naviscan (Booth 1118) is displaying a biopsy works-in-progress accessory for its positron emission mammography (PEM) system. Philips Healthcare (Booth 7713) is showcasing enhancements to its BrightView XCT SPECT/CT system and new features for its Gemini TF PET/CT and Gemini TF PET/CT Big Bore modalities. The Philips BrightView XCT integrates Philips BrightView SPECT in a co-planar design with a at-detector x-ray CT. Both Gemini TF PET/CT systems feature Philips’ new 4D time-ofight technology. Siemens Healthcare (Booth 922) is exhibiting the Biograph mCT—which features a CT with molecular capabilities and a PET scanner with CT capabilities. The Biograph mCT is available in detector conﬁgurations of 40-, 64-, and 128-slices, and offers 2 mm uniform resolution throughout the ﬁeld of view. Thinking Systems (Booth 7121) is demonstrating solutions for PET/CT and SPECT/CT image fusion, nuclear cardiology processing and structured reporting, nuclear medicine processing and review, cardiac PET analysis and PET brain analysis.
