Health Imaging & IT - November 2008 - (Page 60) TECHNOLOGY PREVIEWS HEALTHCARE IT OrthoView (Booth 7357) is demonstrating OrthoView 5.2, its orthopedic digital planning and templating software. OrthoView 5.2 contains new tools for the Spine module such as the Nash Moe Grading Guide; Thoracic Trunk Shift Wizard; and a combined Pelvic Incidence, Sacral Slope and Pelvic Tilt Wizard. Rogan-Delft (Booth 8908) is showcasing its XDS Repository. The Repository can be used by other XDS document sources, enabling an institution to archive DICOM and non-DICOM documents in a single system. ScImage (Booth 4013) is showcasing interoperability solutions that deliver a web-based work ow management foundation with automatic study routing and prior pre-fetching. The solution employs business and clinical rules that are interoperable between a large number of existing, vendor-neutral RIS and PACS. The result is a unified worklist that provides real-time, bidirectional exam status and the ability to finalize diagnostic reports and deliver results back to the originating system, the company says. Siemens Healthcare (Booth 922) is demonstrating a works-in progress research portal for clinical research and hypothesis validation, a solution for patient identification for clinical trials, and an automated form completion tool for radiology practices. Siemens also is showcasing syngo Suite Essential, an IT solution for diagnostic imaging centers in the United States, consisting of pre- configured software, hardware and services, in a modular solution where users can choose the options they require. Also new this year, Siemens is demonstrating a works-in-progress solution, focusing on patient identification for clinical trials. The system is based on the Reliable Extraction and Meaningful Inference from Nonstructured Data (REMIND) platform. Another works in progress is a version of the REMIND platform tailored for radiology reports. In conjunction with syngo Work ow, the tool provides automatic form completion and extracts specific elements from text reports to help automate departmental work ow. Softek Solutions (Booth 7710) is debuting version 2.0 of its software system Illuminate, which integrates to Philip Healthcare’s iSite PACS archive. The turnkey system requires no additional hardware or software, and is compatible with iSite versions 3.3, 3.5 and 3.6. Sorna (Booth 7632) is exhibiting Reviewer CD, a complimentary DICOM viewer. Additionally, the company is showcasing its MyBabyCD, software specifically designed to create non-DICOM CDs for patients receiving prenatal ultrasound examinations. Vidar Systems (Booth 8913) is rolling out its Clinical-Express 4.1, the CE-MDD edition of its DICOM fi lm acquisition software. ClinicalExpress 4.1 was developed for use with Vidar’s fi lm digitizers and it is available in English, German, Spanish and Italian. READING SERVICES have an eye for detail Digital radiology reading services have grown out of teleradiology offerings, allowing the opportunity for expert, overnight and exible outsourced reads to and from anywhere on the globe. Vendors at RSNA 2008 are showcasing their emergent and non-emergent final and preliminary reads at any time, to any size imaging center or hospital, while tackling more subspecialty interpretation services such as breast MR interpretation or echocardiogram reads. 3DR Laboratories (Booth 1206) is demonstrating its two main product lines at RSNA: outsourced 3D post-processing and the 3DR thin-server capacity on a 24/7 basis. It also offers an online technologist training product, 3DR Academy. Aris Teleradiology (Booth 1505) is highlighting its Breast MRI reading service that allows for a radiologist to learn from fellowship-trained radiologists who not only have subspecialty training in breast MRI, but also are available for consultative reads. Brit Systems (Booth 3223) is demonstrating 60 Health Imaging & IT | November 2008 new enhancements to its Roentgen Works remote reading service and showcasing the use of AJAX and Skype embedded in Roentgen Works. Imaging On Call (IOC) (Booth 1824) is featuring its expanded its teleradiology service area, now serving clients in Colorado, Massachusetts, Ohio and Tennessee. Online Radiology Medical Group (Booth 3661) is featuring new reading services, including remote reading of echocardiography studies and functional MRI consulting and reading services. ProScan Imaging (Booth 2603) is showcasing its services for primary reads, over-reads, vacation coverage, and peer review services.
