Disabled Passengers Infant prices Infants under 2 years pay just £120 as long as they sit on an adult’s lap. If the infant turns 2 during travel, you must purchase a child ticket. Cot / baby food charges should be paid locally to the hotels. Age at date of outbound travel must be advised at time of booking. Passports & visas All passengers, travelling to the USA & Canada, are required to hold a valid, 10 year British Citizens machine-readable (red) passport. All children, including babies, now require their own machine-readable (red) passport, prior to travelling to the USA or Canada. It will no longer be possible for children to travel to the USA or Canada on their parents passport. If you or your children do not have their own passport, allow 8-12 weeks for your request to be processed. The majority of British machine-readable passport holders do not normally require a visa to visit the USA or Canada, providing they will be in the USA / Canada for no more than 90 days, hold a return ticket, have the right of abode in the UK and complete a Visa Waiver Form. Any passenger holding a British passport issued overseas, will be required to obtain a valid US / Canadian entry visa. All passengers will be required to prove, upon arrival, that they have accommodation booked in the USA / Canada. This is not just a case of writing an address on the immigration visa waiver form, they will need to show evidence of a confirmed reservation including the post (zip) code. Please note that any passengers who are denied entry as a result of incomplete documentation will not be eligible for a refund. We strongly recommend that you contact your travel agent, the US Embassy or Canadian High Commission for full details on the conditions of the Visa Waiver and/or entry requirements as exclusions apply. Land Only Fee An administration charge of £40 per booking is payable for all bookings not including air booked by United Vacations. Currency We recommend that you take some small denomination dollar bills, travellers cheques and at least one of the major credit cards: American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club. Please note, it can be difficult to exchange sterling for US or Canadian currency. Luggage/ski carriage Each passenger is allowed 1 piece of hand baggage (not exceeding 45”) & 2 pieces of checked baggage, dimensions not to exceed 62” (first piece) & 45” (second piece), combined weight limit 100lbs. Each piece must not exceed 50lbs or you will be asked to re-pack it. As an alternative to the larger piece of baggage, you may take ski equipment as follows - 1 pr of skis with bindings, 1 set of boots, 1 set of poles and 1 snowboard. Infants are entitled to 1piece of checked luggage not exceeding 39”. NB - luggage can sometimes be subject to delays on domestic connecting flights served by smaller planes, so if you are connecting on to your resort, you may want to take your boots as hand luggage so that you will have them for any immediate skiing. United Vacations cannot accept any responsibility for loss, damage or delay to any baggage during transit. Please see below for details of our baggage delay insurance policy. No snow resort policies Most resorts have a no-snow policy and we will be able to provide you with individual details at time of booking. We can also provide you with local resort snowlines, numbers, for up to date snow reports. Mandatory Service Fees & Energy Fees At time of going to press, our prices include all known mandatory resort, service and/or energy surcharge fees (unless otherwise stated). However, in the current climate it is possible, during the validity of this brochure, that certain additional charges, payable locally in resort, may be introduced by individual hotels, according to local circumstances. In such instances following notification we will do our best to contact you and ask whether you wish to continue with the booking or cancel without penalty. Pregnancy United Airlines and Air Canada will accept without question women passengers up to 8 months into their pregnancy, providing all return travel is completed within the 8 month period. Please note, United Vacations recommended travel insurance does not provide cover for pregnant women, whose return date of travel is less than 3 months before their due date. We strongly recommend in any event that you consult your doctor before travelling. Accommodation - Please note, the star rating assessment of the accommodation featured in the brochure is based on our own assessment, and has been used to help you choose the right accommodation for your needs. North America does not have an official rating system, and locally assigned ratings therefore vary greatly from one resort to another. - Double rooms in North America will usually have either 1 king sized bed, or 2 queen sized beds; NB. Triple rooms do not provide three single beds. 3rd/4th adult or child prices are based on sharing the existing bedding. A cot or rollaway bed will usually incur an extra charge. While some double rooms in the hotels have two double beds, this is not always the case, and, depending on the size of the hotel rooms, some may have only one double bed. Please check with reservations when booking to ensure that you know what bedding your chosen accommodation has. In general, rooms are Health & inoculation At the time of going to press, UK residents to not require any vaccinations for travel to North America. For further information, you can ask the for the Department of Health’s ‘Advice on Health for Travellers’ leaflet, available from your local ABTA agent or the Department of Health. Altitude - some people can be adversely effected by high altitude; if you are in any doubt as to your fitness for being at a high altitude, we recommend that you consult your G.P before departure. Please ensure that you take time to acclimatise fully to high altitude, and take the appropriate warm winter clothing for your stay. Flight information Recommended check-in time for all transatlantic flights is 3 hours prior to departure (1 hour prior to departure for UK connecting flights with British Midland).
