Third Party Liability Coverage. Unlike British Insurances where unlimited third party cover is mandatory, laws in USA only require a minimum of $20,000, which could potentially leave you financially exposed in the event of a claim being made against you. For this reason we strongly recommend that you be adequately covered, you can do this simply by selecting the Alamo Gold rental option. 2. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Alamo’s CDW protects you against damage to the Alamo car (including theft & vandalism), regardless of who is at fault. Without CDW, you (the renter) would be personally responsible for any damage up to the value of the vehicle. Buy opting for the Alamo Gold package will ensure you is adequately covered with CDW 3. $1 million Liability cover (Extended protection – EP) Alamo provides up to $1m third party liability coverage and $100,000 uninsured motorist protection (UMP) for the renter and any family member related by blood, marriage or adoption. For your peace of mind and financial protection United Vacations include this protection in the Alamo Gold package, free of charge. 4. State and Local Taxes Unless pre-purchasing Alamo Gold, rates do not include state or local taxes or surcharges, (which are payable locally, and can vary from between 5-15% of total value of car rental depending on state) and airport user fee, (also payable locally, which can vary from 0-10% of total value of car rental – subject to change). 5. Fuel By opting for the Alamo Gold option, you would be entitled to a free tank of petrol. 6. One-Way Rentals These must be confirmed in advance and are subject to drop off charges paid locally. One-way rentals are not permitted with ECAR and EDAR cars. Please see opposite for the list of locations where United Vacations offers FREE one-way drop-offs 7. Infant seats Children up to the age of 6 are required by law to be transported in approved child seats. These must be requested at the time of booking and will be provided by Alamo at the cost of US$6.99 or CAD$6.99 per day (paid locally). 8. Additional/under-age drivers For additional drivers, a charge of US$10 per extra driver per day will be charged when you collect the car. If you are planning to have additional drivers, we strongly recommend the Alamo Gold Package, which allows for 1 ‘named driver’ and an additional 3 drivers, free of charge. The minimum age is 21: drivers under the age of 25 will be required to pay US$25/CAD$25 per driver per day (paid locally) 9. Conditions of rental All drivers must carry a full valid driving licence. All drivers should have a major credit card, which will be debited for any incidental charges at the time of rental. Cars may be driven in any state within USA, but must be returned to the country of pickup. Cars may not be driven into Mexico. No refunds will be made on unused or partially used rentals. Returns on periods more than 24 hours, are charged an hourly rate or daily rate, whichever is less. IMPORTANT – All car rentals are subject to the legal terms, conditions and pricing procedures of Alamo Rent a Car in effect at the time of printing this brochure. In the event of any enactment of any law in the United States, whether federal, state or local, which restricts or prohibits any of those terms, conditions or pricing procedures, Alamo’s terms, conditions and prices will be subject to adjustment to the extent necessary to compensate for such restriction or prohibition.
