You’re back in California now and the pine clad mountains provide wonderful driving country, as do the little towns you pass on the way. Then John Muir, the naturalist spread the word, and through the pictures of Ansel Adams, Yosemite’s beauty was known to all. Today the Valley is much the same with El Capitan and Half Dome dominating the view, and Bridal Veil and Yosemite Falls giving it a magical feel. Whilst here, you should also visit the giant redwoods and Tuolumne Meadows. The town is the epicentre of all things rodeo, and during the summer you will find a nightly rodeo, with a variety of additional fun such as barrel racing and roping for you to enjoy. Many of the greatest cowboys started their rodeo careers in Cody, so saddle up! Hotel: 1 night Buffalo Bill Village Day 6 Cody – Sheridan From Cody head across the Powder River country to the western town of Sheridan, half way on your journey to the Black Hills.
