Robinson M.D., D.Psych, FRCPCP, will reveal “What Women Want” during her presentation of the Alexandra Symonds Award Lecture this afternoon. Dr. Robinson, who is Professor of Psychiatry and Obstetrics/Gynecology at the University of Toronto and Director of the Women’s Mental Health Program at the University Health Network, Toronto, is a long-time researcher of women’s issues. During her talk, which takes place from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Room 143 A/B/C on Level One of the convention center, Dr. Robinson will provide an overview of some of the issues women — particularly women in North America — face that have an affect on their mental health. “The bottom line is there are still huge issues to be dealt with,” Dr. Robinson said. “There are big issues in equality, violence against women, and reproductive rights. There’s a lot of work that hasn’t been done, and gains can slip away easily.” As part of her talk, Dr. Robinson will share data from her many years of research on women’s Dr. Robinson was co-founding director of issues.
