The educational program constructed by Dr. Robert Flanigan, AUA Secretary, and Dr. Glenn Preminger, AUA Chairman of Education, is truly outstanding and includes all aspects of urology. The number of the ever-popular Lunch With the Experts has been expanded and late breaking presentations during the plenary sessions will inform the audience of cutting-edge advances. Panel discussions and state-of-the-art lectures will be accompanied by critical discussion sessions whereby a discussant will summarize and synthesize new data. A number of hands-on labs and skilled lab sessions will also be featured. Paul F. Schellhammer, M D F Schellhammer M.D. Our international menu, which AUA President has always featured a session by our Spanish colleagues, continues to expand with sessions by the Chinese, French, Japanese, Portuguese and other international societies. New for 2008 is the Global Perspectives in Urology Forum, which will feature urological case studies from around the world. These efforts emphasize the fact that the urological world as the economic and political world is “flat” and international networking becomes ever more common and important. Our exhibit hall will feature the latest equipment, pharmaceuticals and educational products. The hall will be open from Saturday, May 17, to Tuesday, May 20, and feature 2 social gatherings. Finally, Orlando is certainly a family destination. The opening function at SeaWorld will be a treat for our adult attendees. The numerous other offerings on the Disney properties will allow children of parent urologists to thank them for attending the 2008 Annual Meeting. So please accept this personal invitation to the world’s largest urological meeting. Paul F. Schellhammer, M.D. AUA President WHAT’S NEW IN 2008?
