University of Florida - IFAS Annual Report 2007 - (Page 2) IFAS Annual Report 2007 The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences has enjoyed a remarkable year. In the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the number of students and graduates continues to increase. Research funding has also increased, enhancing the state’s agriculture, natural resources and sustainability. Extension faculty are reaching more Floridians and receiving greater support from counties than ever before. The outlook for private giving is better than ever, and the IFAS endowment continues to grow. The IFAS faculty has become more diverse. Over the past several years, the success of IFAS statewide teaching, research and extension programs has been truly impressive. For this, we thank federal, state and county governments along with Florida’s agricultural and natural resource industries, the generosity of private individuals and organizations – and the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students.
