Launched by IFAS Extension in 2006, the SolutionsforYourLife. com Web site offers a wide range of information from IFAS as well as partnering agencies and institutions. With thousands of how-to publications, educational programs, technical reports and other materials, Solutions for Your Life helps Extension faculty serve their clients more effectively. The home page contains six permanent topics – agriculture, community development, environment, families and consumers, 4-H youth development, and lawn and garden. Each topic has its own Web page to help users find specific information. organic Agriculture As organic food revenues climb by almost 20 percent each year, the demand for trained professionals is also growing, prompting UF’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences to expand its academic programs that support organic and sustainable agriculture. In Fall 2006, the horticultural sciences department launched a new specialization in organic crop production. This specialization complements the existing minor in organic and sustainable crop production, also coordinated by horticultural sciences, and the sustainable crop production and management option in the plant sciences major. This option is coordinated by the agronomy department.
