GET220 Working with Troubled Students Course Description The workshop will provide participants information to help recognize the risk factors and warning signs associated with troubled and disruptive students. Recommendation for appropriate interventions, referrals and follow up will be discussed. The second part of this workshop will provide QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training. The goal of this second part of the workshop will be to train campus “gatekeepers” (faculty, staff and students who regularly interact with others in the course of their work) in how to effectively recognize and refer persons in distress to campus and community resources. Everyone is welcome- no need for fitness or flexibility; no specific attire necessary.
