Her job allows her to telecommute. stephanie M. Gorse (UMB, BS Ed ’73) has lived in Plymouth with her husband Peter since 1976. She has four children, three of whom are married. She is also the proud “grammie” of a three-and-a-half-year-old boy and a two-month-old girl. Bruce Gould (BSC, BS Reg Studies ’75) worked for ten years as the executive director of the Virginia Motor Vehicle Board. His daughter recently graduated from the College of William and Mary. Donna M. Hopkinson (BSC, BS Ex Sci/Phys Ed ’75) is now the pulmonary rehabilitation coordinator at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Mass. stefanos Loisou (UMB, BA Eng ’70) recently completed 35 years of financial services experience and is now the principal of Financial Workshops in North Andover, Mass. The company serves the asset preservation and income distribution needs of preand post-retirement individuals and offers periodic workshops in New England as well as parts of Florida. Stefanos is also hosting a weekly financial radio program every Tuesday morning called “It’s Your Money!” on WCCM 1110AM. He is assisted by his wife, Gayle Costas Loisou (UMB, BA Psych ’69), whom he met at UMass Boston and has been married to for 36 years. elizabeth R. Mock (UMB, MA His ’79) co-edited the book, Hanoi Journal, 1967, by Carol McEldowney. Mock is the university archivist at UMass Boston’s Healey Library. Carla egidio Orifice (UMB, BA French ’70) has been married to her husband Robert, a partner in Rogers Pharmacy, Inc., for 33 years, and is a 27-year employee of the Social Security Administration. She has two adult sons: Doug, a vice president in investments/financial advisors with Bank of America; and Mike, an x-ray technology student and lead guitarist of the band Dreaded Silence. Harry A. Proudfoot (UMB, BA Eng ’75) is an English and journalism teacher at Westport High School in Westport, Mass. Proudfoot also advises the high school newspaper, The Villager, which won first place for the ninth consecutive time in the New England Scholastic Press Association awards. The Villager is the only daily high school newspaper in the country. stephen C. Puleo (UMB, BA Eng ’78; MA His ’94) has authored three books: Dark Tide: The Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919; Due to Enemy Action: The True World War II Story of the USS Eagle 56; and The Boston Italians: A Story of Pride, Perseverance, and Paesani from the Years of the Great Immigration to the Present Day. Thomas e. woods (UMB, BA Econ ’78) is the owner and president of the Long Term Centers Group as well as the administrator at Pine Knoll Nursing Center in Lexington. He has been a licensed nursing home administrator in Massachusetts for over 25 years and holds a fellowship in the American College of Health Care Administrators. Jack Geary (UMB, BA Comm Plan ’82; MS Pub Aff ’87) has retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to expand his moonlighting consulting practice to full time. His most recent public sector assignment was as director of operations for the Cambridge Housing Authority. He is currently living in Washington D.C. and Florida. Gertrude C. Goodman (UMB, BA Music ’86) is a performing artist who works as a singer, writer, director, producer, and teacher throughout the Metro Boston area. She performs in a variety of languages including Yiddish, Hebrew, Ladino, Spanish, French, Italian, and German. She was recently seen on the big screen as Roberta Trett in the Ben Affleck-directed film Gone Baby Gone. She also appears as Mrs. Claus/The Librarian in The Child King, a film by local filmmaker Frank Kerr, made to raise money for the Special Olympics. Goodman is CEO of her own production company, Jew Hill Avenue Productions, based in Cambridge, Mass. Bryan B. Hamm (UMB, BS Mgmt ’85) is co-founder and CIO of Cratos Capitol Partners, LLC, a commercial finance company that provides senior and junior debt solutions for middle-market companies. 1980s Margot Fitzgerald Backus (UMB, BA Eng ’87) received the Irish American Cultural Association’s Annual NVIG Fellowship, which will allow her to be in residence at the National University of Ireland-Galway for the 2007-2008 academic year. Paula Banks (UMB, BA Soc ’85) is a geriatric core manager. She has published Caring for our Elders: A Special Report, a handbook offering “tips and scripts” for caring for aging parents. Aaron Battista (UMB, BA Psy ’88) is the vice president of retail for Lucky Brand Jeans in Los Angeles, Cal. Rosalyn Browne (UMB, MEd ’86) retired as a school administrator in 2005 and is currently a program director at the National Historic Landmark District of Penn Center, Inc., on St. Helena Island, South Carolina. Lt Col John P. Christopher, UsMC (UMB, BA Hist ’88) is in his 17th year of service in the US Marine Corps. He was recently selected to command a marine battalion stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. The battalion takes part in deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and other military activities throughout the Pacific.
