Craig Pierantozzi (BA Psy & Soc ’92) is currently working for Juniper Networks in Denver, Colo., as a professional services manager. He lives with his wife Andrea and their two dogs outside Boulder, Colo. He is currently attending Regis University in Denver to earn an MBA degree. Marie C. Regis (BA French ’92; BS Nurs ’96) is currently enrolled in the nursing doctoral program at UMass Amherst. Kamaul D. Reid (BA Econ ’97) recently published a memoir, Look What I Found Under the Bed, a coming-of-age story about a young African-American man during his first summer as a mover. Jane M. souza (BA Eng ’95) is the executive director of CONNECT, a-five public-college consortium including UMass Dartmouth, Bridgewater State College, Massasoit Community College, Bristol Community College, and Cape Cod Community College. Matthew sweeney (BA Econ ’91) is the chief operating officer of the Long Term Centers Group. He is the licensed nursing home administrator at Serenity Hill in Wrentham and sits on the board of the American College of Health Care Administrators. He has earned his master’s degree from Lesley University in healthcare management and is an adjunct professor in the Healthcare Management Department of Cambridge College. stefanie Valovic (BA Pol Sci ’95) started the MBA program at UMass Boston in the spring semester of 2007. passion for BFIT, her strong work ethic, and her vision for working with others to insure continued enrollment growth. Crystal Dawn (BA Psy ’04) recently published her first book, The Pet Mouse, about interspecies love and friendship between a talking mouse and two little girls in Cambridge, Mass. In the book, Max, a friendly mouse, goes in search of adventure and instead meets the human children Sara and Lea, developing a bond that lasts a lifetime. emily Douglas (PhD Pub Pol ’02), assistant professor of social work at Bridgewater State College, is about to embark on a two-year study funded by a $400,000 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. Jeanne Heroux (BS Nurs ’02) was awarded the Chancellor’s Scholarship in 1995, but had to forfeit it because she had two children and was unable to come to Boston from the Cape to attend school. She completed her BSN on the Cape when the program was finally offered there. In May 2007, she graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with her MSN, and also from the nurse practitioner program there. She sat for her boards in September, 2007. Both of her daughters are currently University of Massachusetts students, one in Boston and the other in Dartmouth. Joan e. Quagenti (MEd Inst Des ’04) recently joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts as training/communication manager for the sales division. She is also on the board of directors of the Society of Insurance Trainers and Educators (SITE), where she serves as vice president of member sean L. Avery (BA Pol Sci ’00) recently joined the Burnham Institute for Medical Research, a La Jolla, Ca., non-profit focused on cancer research, as an intellectual property specialist. Arthur B. Barnes (BA Crim Jus ’04) married Angela Lawson on April 28, 2007, in Worcester, Mass. Fellow UMass Boston alumni in attendance included Mike McLaughlin ’0, Frank Campo ’0, Mike Bissanti ’0, Obed Magny ’04, Dave Kimball ’0, Rich Larson ’0, Joe Beale ’04, and James wilcox ’0. James Bulot (PhD Ger ’04) was recently appointed head of the Gerontology, Sociology, and Political Science Department at the University of Louisiana, Monroe. Randi Dalicandro (BS Fin ’07) joined the Law Offices of James Sokolove as an executive assistant. She is responsible for being the primary support to the CEO and executive managers of the firm. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a paralegal at the Law Offices of Dale J. Tamburro, PC, in Belmont, Mass. She has also been the Waltham High School cheerleading coach since 2001. Andrea Dawes (BA Eng ’02) accepted the position of director of admissions at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in October, 2007. Andrea impressed the search committee with her 2000s services. Besides contributing articles for the SITE annual journal, she is also a member of the SITE Train the Trainer faculty, and has facilitated a number of sessions at various insurance companies in the Boston area.
