Motorola Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has elected Greg Brown as Chief Executive Officer of Motorola, effective January 1, 2008. Zander as CEO, and Zander, 60, will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors until the annual meeting of stockholders in May 2008. Photo Stencil has announced the appointment of L. Todd Woods as the company’s new vice president of operations. Woods will oversee daily business operations, manufacturing and supply chain management. From an operational perspective, he will spearhead continuous improvement in the value chain, including key areas such as cost control, quality and productivity. Winonics Inc and Cosmotronic announced the appointment of Harvey A. “Sonny” Dorren as senior vice president, sales and marketing. Dorren comes to Winonics/Cosmotronics with over 28 years of industry experience. CADParts & Consulting and EdmondMarks Technologies electronic manufacturing services have also formed a strategic alliance. 12 Aeroflex announced that it has signed Restronics as a manufacturer’s representative for its automated test equipment (ATE) product line in the U.S. Ansys and Zuken announced that it will interface Zuken’s ECAD tools with the Ansys Workbench simulation environment. The companies reports that the software enables the use of 3-D models for structural and thermal analyses on PCB designs without creating prototypes, improving development speed and reducing costs. Direct Logix Inc. and Automated Logistics Solutions (ALS) announced a partnership to offer a fully integrated digital manufacturing engineering solution to PCB manu- facturers. This partnership allows regional access to Direct Logix’s Control Center PCB Engineering technology combined with rules-driven solutions from ALS. This will provide integration and automation from engineering through to CAM. The Direct Logix business model accommodates small/mid-size to very large global PCB manufacturers. Endicott Interconnect Technologies has ordered four Schmoll Maschinen MX-1 XXL drill machines. EI chose a mix of single-station, single-head machines, and single-station dual-head machines (one drilling and one routing). EI now has a total of eight Schmoll drills. Schmoll is part of Bürkle’s FabFour Machinery Alliance.
