Solutions 2009 - (Page 48) 48 Lean Manufacturing Overview This course demonstrates a systematic approach to reducing costs and lead times by continually reducing non-value added activities. Lean manufacturing tools improve the flow of information and materials that will increase organizational productivity, competitiveness and profitability. With a combination of classroom training, real-world examples and handson simulations, participants will discover ways to identify and eliminate or reduce wastes in the manufacturing process. Lean tools include value stream mapping, workplace organization and visual controls (5-S system), standardized work, quick changeover/setup reduction, pull/Kanban systems and total productive maintenance.
