Getting Around
Transportation options in UTAH are almost as endless as your choices for adventure. You’ll easily be able to travel anywhere in UTAH, from touchdown at Salt Lake City International Airport, to the backroads of the far corners of our unique state. BY AIR
Salt Lake City is serviced by companies that provide commercial air service, charter flights, or aerial connections to other Utah destinations. These smaller airlines offer unique experiences often missed by visitors. SkyWest Airlines serves cities throughout the West and scheduled flights from Salt Lake City to Cedar City and St. George. Call (800) 221-1212, Delta Connection or (435) 634-3000, St. George office. Ogden-Hinckley Airport is a full service, general aviation facility, serving private, charter, and commercial craft. The airport also offers car rentals and a cafe. Call (801) 629-8251. Redtail Aviation provides scenic flights over national parks and charter flights to and from the Moab area. Call (800) 842-9251. Contact Canyonlands Field at (435) 259-4849 for information on other services offered. In the summer of 2011, two new Trax lines were completed: West Valley and Mid-Jordan. The Airport, Draper, and Sugarhouse Trolley lines are currently under construction, make sure to consult UTA for updates. The UTA-operated FrontRunner commuter rail system has service from Salt Lake City north to Pleasant View in Weber County. BY BUS
Greyhound Bus lines access several Utah cities. In Northern Utah, buses make stops in Provo, Salt Lake City, Ogden, Brigham City, Tremonton, and Logan. Greyhound also makes runs to Green River in Northeastern Utah. Heading to Southwestern Utah on I-15, the bus line makes stops in Parowan and St. George. UTA has bus service to northern Utah’s major cities from Provo to North Ogden, including extensive coverage in the Salt Lake Valley. In winter, Park City and other Salt Lake City ski areas are accessible via a number of ski-bus operations, some of which pick-up at the airport. BY RAIL & LIGHT RAIL
In addition to daily stops in Salt Lake City, Amtrak has service to Ogden (north of Salt Lake City) and Provo (to the south). In Central and Eastern Utah, there is also Amtrak service to Helper and Green River. Visit www.amtrak.com, or call (800) 872-7245. The Wasatch Front has a light rail system operated by Utah Transit Authority (UTA) called TRAX. It currently runs from the Intermodal Hub in Downtown Salt Lake City to the south end of the Salt Lake Valley (10000 South in Sandy), and eastward to the University of Utah.
