Research Discovering the Future UT Dallas is the only public university in North Texas with members of the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering and a Nobel Laureate on the faculty. Research is a big part of the University’s mission. Undergraduates may work side-by-side with distinguished scientists to explore technology and science ranging from amazing new applications for nanotechnology to better treatments and cures for autism. • Students interested in doing original research can apply for an Undergraduate Research Scholar Award to cover laboratory equipment, travel, or other project-related expenses while working with faculty mentors in their labs. • Freshmen awarded an Academic Excellence Scholarship or National Merit Scholarship may apply for one of 20 Anson L. Clark Summer Research Program positions awarded annually. The program pays a $2,000 stipend to work 10 weeks with UT Dallas science and engineering faculty in their labs. • Biochemistry undergraduate majors conduct groundbreaking, collaborative research in faculty laboratories associated with The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
