Events include alternative spring break, monthly volunteer opportunities and response/service to local and national incidents and other individual causes. Student Government utdallas.edu/student/sg Student Government is the official student voice to the UT Dallas administration, the UT System Board of Regents and other governmental entities. Participants in Student Government enhance spirit, protect University traditions and support students in their academic and community-directed endeavors. Greek Life UT Dallas is home to 14 national Greek fraternities and sororities that provide opportunity for friendship, guidance and leadership opportunities. utdallas.edu/greeklife Spirit Squads utdallas.edu/spirit The Power Dancers are the official dance team of UT Dallas. They perform hip-hop, jazz and other dance styles for varsity basketball games. The UT Dallas cheerleaders root for volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball. Both groups also make appearances at on- and off-campus events. Student Union utdallas.edu/student/union The Student Union offers a place for you to hang out, grab a bite to eat and relax. The Union houses most of the student service offices and includes TV and study lounges, pool and ping-pong tables, a video arcade, the Comet Café, The Pub and an array of rooms that can be reserved for organization meetings. Student Media utdmercury.com radio.utdallas.edu The UTD Mercury publishes bi-weekly on Mondays throughout the school year. The newspaper offers paid positions for writers, editors, page designers and photographers. Radio UTD, a student-run, Internet-based radio station, features an eclectic and freeform mix of music and original programming, including talk, poetry and live coverage of UT Dallas sports.
