ASSOCIATION PREPS FOR ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT The annual Alumni Classic Golf Tournament will be held June 25 at Soldier Hollow. A new low $600 tournament fee covers four golfers, breakfast, lunch and a gift. The proceeds from the tournament will benefit UVSC students through scholarships and alumni services. Tens of thousands of dollars are raised every year to help dozens of students. The winners of the tournament – played in four person scramble format – will receive green jackets and have a scholarship named after them. Sponsors will receive recognition at the event, on the Web site and will have the opportunity to distribute promotional items to event participants. IS SPREADING ACROSS UTAH VALLEY In preparation for one of the College’s most significant name changes, UVSC is inviting alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members to join in a yearlong celebration dubbed, UVUphoria! UVUphoria! is designed to encourage participation in campus events, culminating June 30, 2008, with one of the largest celebrations the campus has ever seen. In a countdown to the UVU transition, UVUphoria! will provide entertainment from country stars Collin Raye, Josh Gracin and Joe Nichols, as well as food and other activities, including tours of the new 190,000 square foot library. The morning of July 1 will feature the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the library and will also officially recognize UVSC as Utah Valley University. But the celebration doesn’t stop there. UVUphoria! will continue to feature events including Founder’s Day and Homecoming 2008.
