January 2008 andrew sTone Distinguished Student Service Award Former UVSC Student Body President Andrew Stone is no stranger to UVSC. “I would seriously work here the rest of my life if I could,” he said. Stone is grateful for what UVSC has done for him and gives back as much as he can for all of the opportunities he has received. He is receiving the Distinguished Student Service Award for his contributions as 2006-07 student body president and his leadership during UVSC’s drive for university status and the Fulton Challenge. With his help and motivation, the UVSC student body raised $25,000 – a sum that surprised UVSC administrators and Ira Fulton himself. Stone currently works as coordinator of the senate and independent branches as part of UVSC student government and also participates as a leader in UV Experience, an orientation for incoming freshmen. “A lot of people forget that UVSC helped them get where they are,” he said. Stone doesn’t plan to make the same mistake.
