Marcus Lowe, from Basin City, Wash., majoring in accounting, and Caleb Love, from Salem, Utah, majoring in business, spent three days in New York visiting investment, finance, accounting and public relations companies, speaking with high-level management and getting an overall feel for the city. “It completely changed my line of thinking,” Love said. “I realized I can go anywhere with what I want to accomplish. It opened up my mind to new possibilities for internships and my future career.” New INSTITUTIONAL IDENTITY UNVEILED Hundreds of students, faculty, staff and community members gathered in the Sorensen Student Center’s Grande Ballroom to witness the unveiling of a new family of logos to be associated with Utah Valley University. The logos consist of an institutional mark (with the image of the state of Utah in the first U), seal and athletic marks. Salt Lake City design firm Rare Method, the company selected by the UVU Image Committee in June, designed the new logos. “University status only comes around once for an institution,” said Eric White, vice president of creative services at Rare Method. “We are thrilled for this opportunity to help UVSC craft an identity that will create a lasting legacy for the university.” Utah Valley State College will become Utah Valley University July 1, 2008.
