CHI - Spring 2009 - (Page 52) Heat up Your Valentine’s Day MAKE-UP TIPS AND TRICKS •Apply metallic silver or red body jewels in a heart shape to the nape of your neck for a sexy surprise! •Apply a light, iridescent highlighter pencil to the cupid’s bow (center point) of the top lip, to the inner corners of each eye and/or along the top of the cheekbone for a subtle glow. (Make sure to check your work in the light!) •Give your French manicure a kiss of sheer, frosted pink with CHI Ceramic Nail Lacquer in Pretending to be Shy. •Make his heart purr with a sexy cat’s eye look. Use liquid eyeliner in brown or black and a frosted eyeshadow in a contrasting tone, like champagne or beige. First, apply the shadow, covering the lid from corner to corner. Apply the eyeliner in a thin strip from the inside corner to the mid-point and a little thicker as you extend to the outer edge. Add a few individual lashes to the out– er lid for a sexy final touch. Curl Up and Get Cozy Nothing’s sexier than a cascading flow of luscious curls. French Kiss Try this new twist on the French braid. • Divide hair into three sections. • Attach a strand of white pearls to the top of the left section and secure. • Attach a strand of red pearls to the center section and secure. • Attach white pearls to the right section and secure. • Begin braiding the hair and, as you do, the pearls will be worked into the braid. • Push the bead strands up to the top surface of the hair as you work. • Secure the braid with elastic at the end, roll the tail under and secure with pins. • Mist with CHI Shine Infusion for a glossy finish. 52 Volume V, Issue 18
