THIS IS THE YEAR you head to the track, hit the gym or dive into the pool and get into shape once and for all. So now that you’re on the right road for your body, how about a shape-up plan for your nails? Start now and you’ll be sporting 10, long, strong, perfect nails by the time warm weather arrives. What’s the Problem? After you swallowed that last bite of holiday peanut brittle, you probably stepped in front of the mirror for a clear-eyed figure assessment. It was the best way to figure out what needed work (upper arms, lower tummy) and where to focus your exercise efforts. So hands down! Take a good look at your nails and cuticles and zero in on your problem areas. Are your nails munched down beyond recognition or ragged from chronic breakage? Do you constantly snag annoying hangnails on clothing and furniture? Are your cuticles dry and cracked? Identifying the problem is the first step to a solution. Health Basics Logging miles on the treadmill won’t do you a bit of good if you drive over to the fast-food emporium afterward for triple cheeseburgers and shakes.
