FAROUK BEHIND THE SCENES HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. PRESIDENT THERE WERE LOTS OF REASONS to celebrate recently, when Farouk Systems Group turned 21 and opened its third warehouse in Houston, Texas. It was also congratulations time for Founder and Chairman Farouk Shami, who was observing a birthday. So Farouk staffers partied hard, enjoying delicious barbecue, mariachi music, dancing, employee recognition awards and, of course, cake! On hand for the grand opening of the new 100,000 square-foot warehouse were Shami’s sons Rami (who serves as CEO) and Basim. Also present was Farouk Systems Group Vice Chairman, John McCall. Shami remarked that he started the company Cutting the cake. with less than $1,000 and today, thanks to the more than 2,000 employees in 92 countries, Farouk Systems Group is a billion-dollar company.
