CHI - Summer 2008 - (Page 62) FAROUK BEHIND THE SCENES FAROUK MARKS FIFTH ANNIVERSARY AS PAGEANT HAIR CARE SPONSOR You can’t perch a tiara onto just any old hairdo, which is why the powers behind the Miss Universe Organization (Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA) have requested that Farouk Systems handle the hair styling duties again this year. As a result, the company claims the title of official Miss Universe hair care sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. As they have in the past, Farouk Systems teams of stylists will be on hand for each event, prepping the princesses in the weeks prior to the competitions, as well as for the main events. Right now, Team Farouk is busy getting their passports in order, because they have learned that the Miss Universe competition will take place this summer in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. “We are thrilled to be the official hair care sponsor again this year,” says Company Founder Farouk Shami. “We believe in the Miss Universe organization and we see eye to eye with their humanitarian goals. We are proud to contribute to transforming these young women into leaders representing exactly what our company believes in—charity, education and ethics!” Reigning Miss Universe Riyo Mori will crown her successor in Vietnam this summer.
