CHI - Winter 2007 - (Page 28) CHI® BUZZ Three Simple Questions for Rob Pinkston A Nickelodeon Channel regular, Rob Pinkston plays the lovable Coconut Head on the hit, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. This industry jack-of-all-trades also appeared with Ashton Kutcher on the MTV favorite, Punk’d. Meet this up-andcoming star. 1. On Ned’s your character is known for his crazy hairstyle. How is it to wear a wig on set? I’ve got to say, wearing the wig isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It feels like I’m wearing a knit cap all day, and it isn’t uncomfortable at all. The best part is that I never have to brush my hair in the morning before work! 2. Where do you like to hang out in Hollywood? I love going to see live bands at the clubs on Sunset Blvd. One of my favorites is the Key Club—a lot of my friends’ bands play there. And, I love Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles. If you’ve never been, you’re missing out big time! 3. What can we expect from you for the remainder of 2007? I have a bunch of projects that are scheduled to come out this year, and I’m expecting it to be my biggest year yet! Look for Parental Guidance Suggested with Ryan Pinkston, Andy Milonakis, Frankie Muniz and Matthew Lillard, and The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang from the makers of Napoleon Dynamite. Three Simple Questions for Lauren Storm Surf, sun and waves! Teen actress Lauren Storm hits the beaches of Hawaii as the fashionable Taylor on the hit TV series Flight 29 Down. Featured on the Discovery Kids Network and NBC Kids, Lauren shares the screen with teen sensation Corbin Bleu from your all-time favorite: High School Musical! 1. Do you relate to your character of Taylor in any way? When I started to work on Taylor, it was pretty hard. I had to change my entire thinking process around. Taylor responds, emotes and has completely different motives than I have. As the show progressed, Taylor became more like me. And in the movie she is the most “Lauren” that she has ever been. 2. On to fashion. Who are your fashion icons? I think Sarah Jessica Parker always looks classy. Also, I like to take little things from Gwen Stefani. She has fresh ideas all the time, and I love it! 3. Now hair—do you prefer curly or straight? I love my hair curly. The bigger the better! I think it is a characteristic that makes me unique and it is how my hair naturally wants to go. Why mess with nature? 28 Volume IV, Issue 13
