Class Spotlight After attending one of Farouk Systems’ popular hair color classes, you might find yourself pondering, “How do I turn my new and improved coloring skills into cash?” Randy Stephens has the answer. As Farouk Systems Group’s resident business-building expert, Stephens now presents his 45-minute business strategies class in conjunction with the company’s color classes. Coordinating the courses, says Stephens, “takes stylists from how to do color to how to make money with color.” The business presentation, a blend of information and motivation, includes: ■ A brief explanation of the CHI Alliance Stylist Reward Program. All stylists can sign up for the program, which offers $50 toward Farouk products or education for every $1,000 you spend. ■ An interactive exercise to rediscover and define what you want from both your private and professional life. “It’s a cliché,” says Stephens, “but some people can’t see the forest for the trees.” ■ Tips on booking for maximum productivity. Stephens teaches stylists how to identify, and get clients into services that build tickets quickly. ■ Guidance in how to converse with the client. Stephens urges stylists to confine chat topics to the client and her beauty needs. “As soon as the client thinks it’s about you, you’ll lose that client,” he cautions. “Hairdressers who never talk about themselves are considered the best conversationalists!” ■ Direction on how to properly hold tools like scissors and blow dryers in order to avoid an achy back, varicose veins in the legs, carpal tunnel syndrome and other common hairdresser ailments. “Throughout the class, some people are crying while other people are laughing,” Stephens notes. “And without exception, after every class some participants approach us to talk about their personal experience and how the class affected them. Some former students are so inspired that they’ve become educators for the company!” Natural Silky weaving hair Natural Yaki weaving hair Care Instructions For Revlon Weaving Hair ■ Always ■ Apply ■ Rinse wash with warm or cool water. shampoo and massage gently. thoroughly and apply conditioner, cream rinse or wet-look spray. dry and brush hair with a wide tooth comb. and dry naturally. hair dries completely, style as desired. ■ Pat ■ Set ■ Once Volume IV, Issue 13 69 http://www.lordandcliff.com
