Fantastic Sams currently has 1,400 locations and approximately 10-15 percent of the company’s franchisees/owners have a hair styling background, he says. Sturgis adds that when the company looks at its future plans, salon professionals are a natural market to tap for achieving planned growth. “Most stylists enter the franchise arrangement with a partner or spouse,” says Sturgis, adding that Fantastic Sams provides new franchisees with financing sources along with all the other business benefits of franchise ownership. “As a Fantastic Sams franchisee, stylists can go into business for themselves, but not by themselves,” he says. Martha Barton of Riverside, California, built her salon career by beginning as a Fantastic Sams stylist and finally achieving her career goal of salon Martha Barton, Fantastic Sams franchisee and ownership. owner of six salons began her career as a stylist and found a rewarding and lucrative career path. “I was a stylist with Fantastic Sams and worked my way up the management path. I wanted to take my career to the next income level and expand my management role. My boss and the owner of the location where I was working suggested I join him in a business partnership. Now, 17 years later, we own six Fantastic Sams salons,” says Barton. To learn more about a career with Fantastic Sams, visit www.fantasticsams.com.
