The Menswork In-Salon Training Program is based on American Crew’s Menswork Method, a technical approach to cutting hair for all clients and hair types. “American Crew devised the Menswork cutting techniques in 1994,” says Sarah Atchley, education director, Colomer Salon Division. “Rather than re-vamp the program, we decided to launch a new program to incorporate additional information we have gathered over the past 10 years. Our goal was to make American Crew education accessible and easily tailored to individual stylist or student needs.” The five DVD program includes 345 minutes of instruction with support materials that include step-bystep manuals (created by technical director Teirry DeJoode) for 18 classic and contemporary men’s cuts, lesson plans, quizzes, cutting guides and rules for tool usage and techniques.
