Salon owner Linda Perrette and her colorist Katie Ross perk up when they see teen clients. This is their chance to introduce a young woman to sophisticated salon style by making run-of-the-mill beautiful. Ross begins by refreshing model Kristin’s color dimension with bright slices through the top. The highlights will fall over the surface to give real interest to Kristin’s warm dark blonde. Then Perrette steps in with a loose layering technique that preserves length while emphasizing texture. Her key technique is end-chipping, performed on elevated lengths to enhance movement.
