Modern Salon - August 2007 - (Page M4) MEMO Sales MATRIX NATIONAL SALES MEETING CARRIES “EMBRACE THE FUTURE” THEME Matrix employees, directors and top regional sales managers converged on Tucson to “Embrace the Future” at the company’s national sales meeting. The purpose of the event was to recap the success of the preceding six months and preview plans for the remainder of this year and 2008. “Matrix is focused on the future of the industry and providing hairdressers with best-in-class products, education and service, as well as the increasingly critical aspect of addressing the ever-changing needs of salon clients and giving them new reasons to go to the salon for services and products,” said Kathy Cullin, senior vice president of sales. Francesca Raminella, general manager and senior vice president, opened the event with a business recap highlighting the brand’s accomplishments, including the launch of Matrix Sales University, which has trained 2,800 DSCs and store managers in 41 markets, as well as the launches of Vavoom, Shade Memory and Prizms.plus. Raminella emphasized Matrix’s role in driving industry growth, product innovation and the company’s investment in education, citing Matrix Destination and the Matrix Global Academy. The U.S. Marketing Team drew attention to major second-half launches, including Biolage scalpthérapie and the SoColor & ColorSync Chocolate Cherry Collections. David Craggs, L’Oréal Professional Products Division president, discussed changes in the salon industry marketplace, highlighting the roles of Matrix and L’Oréal as leaders in spurring overall category growth. Matrix national sales meeting attendees gathered together to “Embrace the Future.” and a runway show featuring Logics Color and new Logics DNA hair care line. To conclude the meeting, attendees participated in a team-building competitive workshop to begin the countdown to Matrix Destination 2008 in Las Vegas, scheduled for June 1-3.
