Heart Function - evaluation and treatment of the heart anatomy including arterial, venous systems and valves of the heart and aorta. • Cardiac Catheterization – often called a cardiac cath or angiography, is performed by inserting a small hollow tube into the blood vessel and advancing the catheter into the coronary (heart) arteries to visualize possible narrowings using x-ray and contrast dye. • Cardiac Angioplasty – is the use of a small balloon on the tip of a catheter to open up an area of blockage inside the blood vessel. • Cardiac Stent Placement – is the use of a tiny, expandable coil which is placed inside a blood vessel at the site of a blockage to assist in keeping a blockage from re-occurring. • Thrombus Aspiration – is the use of a small catheter to draw off blood clots in vessels. • Cardiac Artery Blood Flow Procedure – is the use of a small wire used to determine the pressure within arteries of the heart or body. • Cardiac Vein Blood Flow/Pressure Procedure – is the use of a small catheter that is advanced into the venous side of the heart to measure right-sided pressures. • Pericardiocentesis – is the use of a small tube inserted into the protective sac around the heart to draw off excessive fluid. Vascular Arterial and Venous diagnostic and treatment of blood vessels of the body (excluding heart). • Angiography - is performed by inserting a small hollow tube into the blood vessel and advancing the catheter into the arteries or veins to visualize possible narrowings using x-ray and contrast dye. • Angioplasty - is the use of a small balloon on the tip of a catheter to open up an area of blockage inside the blood vessel. • Stent Placement - is the use of a tiny, expandable coil which is placed inside a blood vessel at the site of a narrowing to assist in keeping a blockage from re-occurring. • Clot-lysing Therapy – is the use of mediations that assist the body in breaking down blood clots.
