2017 VAST Catalog - 37
An adventurous family takes education (way!) outside the classroom.
IN THE MOMENT
"This photo shows our 6-year-old son, Andrew, drift-snorkeling in a coral garden off
Taha'a," explains Virtuoso traveler Amy Goetsch of Cedar Falls, Iowa. "Snorkeling in
French Polynesia isn't for the faint of heart, and he was quite nervous at first," Amy adds,
"but once Andrew got the hang of it, he told us he felt like a sea turtle riding the current
with his friends."
Self-proclaimed nature lover Amy and her husband, Nick, turned a three-week South
Pacific vacation into the educational opportunity of a lifetime for their two young sons.
With guidance from Cedar Falls-based Virtuoso travel advisor Annie Humble-Gougler,
the family explored deserted motus, toured a vanilla plantation and black pearl farm, and
caught a glimpse of the sacred blue-eyed eel during a freshwater river excursion.
A class of its own:
Snorkeling off the island of Taha'a.
Newlyweds capture a peak experience in Park City.
IN THE MOMENT
"My husband, Giancarlo, loves to ski," says Virtuoso traveler Farah Read of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. "If he
had his way, we'd ski every winter, nonstop." So it's only fitting that the adventurous couple honeymooned in Park City,
Utah, where Giancarlo snapped this selfie with his GoPro on the newlyweds' last run of the day.
Farah and Giancarlo asked Santo Domingo-based Virtuoso travel advisors Rossy Natera and Ailin Josefina Maria
Abreu to plan their wintertime honeymoon. The advisors handled it all, including resort accommodations with special
welcome amenities, ski rentals, and lift tickets for four days of skiing.
