Vancouver is constantly investigating and implementing eco-friendly ideas and has big plans for an even greener future. The city has an award-winning 100-year sustainability plan, as well as a more immediate plan to reduce community greenhouse gas emissions six per cent by 2012. In addition, Vancouver plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions caused by city-owned facilities and vehicles by 20 per cent.
