While dining out in Vancouver, keep an eye open for the Ocean Wise symbol next to certain ocean-friendly menu items. Ocean Wise is a conservation program created by the Vancouver Aquarium to educate the public about sustainable seafood, including responsible fishing and farming practices and recommended species. More than 50 restaurants in Vancouver participate in the program by making environmentally friendly decisions such as taking endangered species off menus and buying seafood harvested with minimal habitat damage.
