the other pot is wired as a Volume for the middle
pickup! I can add the middle pickup to any of
the standard three-way switch positions, plus
use the middle pickup by itself as a standalone
choice. In total, this wiring scheme provides
seven unique tonal options.
Of course, there will be minor variations in this
process when it involves a bolt-neck guitar, and
various electronics require different schemes.
But, these principles provide an overall guide.
