the machine bolt to release the jam tension. If I
didn't have the jam screw, the brass hex driver
alone would tighten so hard to the truss once it
bottomed out that removing it would unthread
the truss from the anchor (as I learned the first
time I tried).
13) I used the driver to push the rod to the
anchor, and screwed it in...
14) ...releasing the jam nut worked perfectly!
15) I installed a new bullet nut...
16) ...and the result was a neck that can be
tightened to backbow as needed.
