The Grande Dame of Beverly Hills will plant 80 trees for every “green meeting” that it hosts. The hotel’s earth-friendly gatherings include recycled cups and glass-bottled water, along with organic snacks and complimentary use of one laptop. Other environmental efforts include the Sea Shell Serenity, a new, completely green treatment at The Spa at the Beverly Wilshire; and “Candlelight Nights” at The Blvd restaurant. The green treatment at the Beverly Wilshire. lauds for lindblad The National Wildlife Federation recently honored Lindblad Expeditions with its Conservation Achievement Award for Corporate Achievement. The wildlife preservation organization recognized Lindblad for its pioneering partnership with National Geographic to educate and excite travelers about caring for our planet. Long known for its stewardship, the expedition leader also just announced a comprehensive Climate Change Action Plan that will further minimize its environmental footprint; and this past summer, Lindblad hosted an Arctic summit on global environmental issues for high-level business and political leaders. More awards at sea in more cruising news, Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises just announced their annual environmental award winners. Following impartial evaluations conducted by Conservation international, Freedom of the Seas, Celebrity Summit, and Celebrity Mercury each took honors for going above and beyond in their commitments to protecting our oceans.
